Rồi Mahāpajāpati Gotama (Củ đàm Nữ Ma-ha-ba-xà-bà-đề), đem theo một cặp y mới, đi đến Thế Tôn; sau khi đến, đảnh lễ Thế Tôn rồi ngồi xuống một bên. Ngồi xuống một bên, Mahāpajāpati Gotama bạch Thế Tôn —Bạch Thế Tôn, cặp y mới này do con cắt và dệt đặc biệt cho Thế Tôn. Bạch Thế Tôn, mong Thế Tôn vì lòng từ mẫn hãy nhận lấy cho con.
